Jake is a compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) dedicated to helping clients navigate life’s challenges through a client-centered approach that emphasizes strengths, resilience, and values. He understands that therapy can evoke difficult emotions and uncertainty, so he strives to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to heal, grow, and thrive.
Drawing from a versatile range of therapeutic methods—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems, and more—Jake tailors each treatment plan to the unique needs of individuals and families. His collaborative and empathetic style helps clients address obstacles, manage stressors, and uncover their potential to create meaningful, lasting change.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Jake moved to Cincinnati after completing graduate school, where he and his family lived for nearly a decade. He has been happily married for 17 years and is a proud dad to two wonderful boys. Together, they love to travel, cheer at their kids’ sporting events, and discover new ways to experience the world.
Jake began his career in Cincinnati, working as a crisis therapist and supporting at-risk youth, experiences that deepened his passion for working with children, adolescents, and families. Five years ago, his family returned to Minnesota to be closer to loved ones. After working in a group practice, he launched Uff Da! Mental Health to create a space where clients can feel seen, supported, and empowered.
With a keen interest in addressing modern family challenges—such as tech dependency and screen time—Jake continues to expand his expertise in this evolving area. Whether you’re facing a specific concern or simply want to explore ways to improve your mental well-being, Jake is here to help.
